Hard-working seniors achieve academic excellence

Stephanie Fajardo

Age: 17

School: Timberline High School

Grade: Senior

Hometown: Lacey

Parents: Arnold and Elizabeth Fajardo

Best achievements: making the Dean’s List as a Running Start student at South Puget Sound Community College, being elected an officer for both student government and the Cultural Awareness Club at Timberline, playing varsity tennis

How I spend my time: school school school — I’m continually in classes, with high school in the day, then a full load of Running Start classes in the evenings. In my spare time, I am at either church working on a project, playing the piano or chatting online.

Favorite subject: Spanish

Favorite book: “Dancing on Thorns,” by Rebecca Horsfall, is my favorite book at the moment. It might be different by next week!

Favorite movie: “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” — I like comedies.

Someone I respect: both of my parents, Arnold and Elizabeth Fajardo. They made me, after all.

Dream job: a teacher

Someone famous I’d like to meet: Rebecca Saint James. She is a pretty well known Christian artist who is an amazing singer.

What I’d like to achieve: getting a degree in Spanish and English and becoming a teacher

Someday looking back on my life, I’d like to be able to say: that I lived my life serving God and influenced others in a positive way
Biggest challenge facing teenagers today: finding themselves and expressing themselves positively without worrying what others may think

One thing in the world I would change if I could: I would alleviate the suffering of mankind.

Teacher comment: “Stephanie is an unusually mature, hard-working and goal-oriented young lady. She is a diligent student with a gracious and warm manner toward all. She is an asset to both schools she attends.” — Lynn Coker, counselor, Timberline High School
