Message from Leahlyn Valero: May 1, 2007 To my dear benefactors at the Filipino American Community of South Puget Sound: Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The time has finally come and I finished my Bachelors degree in Secondary Education this past March 2007. My four years in the university was not very simple. Many problems and difficulties arose, but God is really so good and I was able to overcome those challenges in my life. I would not have been able to attain one of my goals in life without your support. Receiving my diploma meant a lot to me. Right now I am reviewing for the upcoming Board Examination for Teachers in the month of August. I am hoping and praying that I will pass the Board Examination and receive my license as a teacher. It will be the greatest achievement of my life and I will be able to seek a position that will suit by abilities and capabilities. I am looking forward to having a job as early as possible for me to be able to help my family. I am so very grateful and thankful for the blessings that God has showered upon me. I want to thank you all very much for your scholarship support. I know it took a big sacrifice for you to help someone you don’t even know. I thank God for a community like yours that reaches out to your former homeland and helps others to achieve their dreams. Having graduated is not the end of my learning, but only moving to a new phase of my life. Once again thank you. May our dear Lord bless you, guide you and shower you with abundant blessings. My prayers are with you always, |
